March 1, 2010
The entire world will be praying for Cameroon on March 5th on the occasion of World Day of Prayer. Each year, on the first Friday in March, Christians of all denominations in more than 2,000 communities across Canada and in more than 170 countries come together to pray and take action in solidarity with the people of that country.
One country is selected each year to be the focus of prayers, and Cameroon will be the focus for 2010. Women from the country write a service which reflects their justice concerns through a biblical lens. Through World Day of Prayer, women affirm that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence in the world. The WDP is a worldwide movement of Christian women, the largest ecumenical movement for prayer.
The ACC board encourages Cameroonians in Canada to join in this effort by attending the events organized in many churches, and put Cameroon in their prayers especially on March 5th.
