Given the recent tragedy that occurred in Haiti, the ACC board would like to express its sympathy to the Haitian community in Canada and to all Haitians in general as they live through this difficult period following the horrendous events that are unfolding in Port-aux-Princes.
As a mark of solidarity with our Haitian brothers and sisters, the ACC board would like to encourage the entire Cameroonian community to give generously toward the Haiti fund-raising effort. In this light, the ACC board has taken the following measures to facilitate giving from our community:
1. To focus donations from our community, our donations will be channelled through the Canadian Red Cross.
2. The ACC will organize a fund-raising effort during our general meeting on February 6, 2010. The entire community is therefore called up to turn up en masse to boost this fund-raising effort.
3. Donations can be made during the general meeting by cheque or in cash.
4. Members of the community who will not be able to attend the general meeting are requested to send their cheques to the ACC at the following address:
C.P. 295, Succ. Centre-Ville, Montreal QC H3B 3J7. Please clearly mark your mailing address on your cheque.
5. Make all cheques payable to the Canadian Red Cross.
6. All donations in cash or by cheque that are received by the ACC will be forwarded to the Red Cross, together with donors’ contact information so that the Red Cross can issue tax receipts to donors.

Please give generously. The Government of Canada will match dollar for dollar every amount that you contribute to help Haiti disaster victims!!
